The goal of the Hexavalent Chromium safety program is to protect people injuries and illnesses associated with using products that contain hexavalent chromium.
Hexavalent chromium, also known as chromium (VI) and CrVI, is found in stainless steel, paints, and chromic acid.
If you are welding or performing other hot work on stainless steel or other steels with any chromium content contact the EHS industrial hygienist to complete an exposure assessment during the work. Until the assessment can be completed it is recommended that you follow the controls in the Hexavalent Chromium Exposure Control Assessment Tool.

Training
- Hexavalent Chromium Safety - W540OS
- This EHS course provides the training required by the OSHA hexavalent chromium standard.
- This course is required initially for the potentially exposed employees and annually for all employees exposed over the action level for hexavalent chromium.
