EHS will be hosting an informational meeting to discuss the future of research laboratory safety inspections in 2021. The meeting will be held on Zoom:
Wednesday, January 13th @ 1:30-2 p.m. on Zoom (Please RSVP for the link)
We will review all coming changes and answer any questions. This meeting is open to all interested.
Topics to be covered during the meeting include:
- When conditions allow, EHS will resume scheduled in-person inspections. Unscheduled walkthroughs will not resume for the time being.
- Questions that were new in 2020 will still be considered “new” in 2021 as well. These questions will be in red italics in the audit checklist. New questions will not be given deficiencies.
- Labs will be required to provide proof that At-Risk employees have completed the HepB vaccine offer/survey.
- Pictures of deficiencies in laboratories will resume when in-person inspections resume.
- Auditors will be surveying spaces for local exhaust devices (e.g., snorkels, canopy hoods, paint booths).
- We will review how to access EHS documents on SharePoint.
You may preview the Audit Changes for 2021 presentation document via our website. This document is always available throughout the year on the Annual Lab Review Process page, under Documents.
