Facilities Management is no longer providing biosafety cabinet moving services on campus. Carver College of Medicine (CCOM) laboratories may contact Wes Sotzen or Scott Klemp for assistance in moving biosafety cabinets. Non-CCOM laboratories may contact any University of Iowa contracted mover for a quote and moving services.
Biosafety cabinets must be decontaminated before they are moved, and certified after they are in place. Labs are responsible for arranging decontamination services with the University of Iowa contracted supplier; currently Technical Safety Services (TSS). If the cabinet is destined for Surplus, please remove biohazard stickers after the cabinet has been decontaminated and contact one of the above-mentioned suppliers to arrange for movement to Surplus.
As a reminder, EOC1 has been acquired by Technical Safety Services (TSS). Biosafety cabinet service quotes will be generated from the TSS system and will use TSS letterhead and signatures.
