13.2 Radiation Safety Officer

The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the University’s radiation safety program as outlined by the Radiation Safety Committees, the University’s radioactive materials license; and state and federal regulations.  The RSO has the authority to communicate with, enforce and direct University personnel regarding radioactive material regulations, license conditions, and University radiation safety policies.  The RSO also has the authority to terminate any use of licensed radioactive material determined to be a threat to health, safety, or property.
